Getting out of a maximized view generally involves swiping from the right or the bottom bezel.
Adobe Reader doesn't play well with Windows 8 and touch; I use SumatraPDF as a touch-friendly desktop PDF viewer. -

Adobe was on the Samsung tablet i bought, i returned it as the specs were wrong, i have an HP one coming tomorrow, i just wanted to know how to get out of the full-screen mode, i will try your fix tomorrow.
Thanks

Turns out Adobe doesn't recognize either swipe-from-the-right or swipe from the bottom. If your taskbar is not set to auto-hide, hit the button for the soft keyboard and use control-L to toggle full-screen. If your taskbar is set to auto-hide and you don't have a physical keyboard for your tablet...I'm not sure what to do. Adobe Reader was clearly not designed to be tablet-friendly, and I strongly, strongly recommend that people using a Windows tablet use either Microsoft's metro "Reader" or SumatraPDF instead of Adobe Reader.

I always use auto hide for the taskbar, i have used windows for over 20years and i felt like an idiot trying to close adobe reader or get the menu bar back, i spent like 5-10mins in bed reading a pdf and then trying to close the reader swiping each and every direction without success, stupid Win8
thanks for the help guys.

So is this what i need "Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8" ?
Adobe Reader Touch app for Windows in the Windows Store

The metro version of adobe works alright from my own experience, it still needs some improvement in my opinion, but it's usable. MS' pdf reader app will start being usable with 8.1, so avoid it for now.

I haven't yet tried Adobe Reader Touch. I'll give it a shot and report back.
I prefer to have my PDF readers desktop-based (yet still touch-friendly) instead of metro-based, since I generally look at PDFs while working on MS Word documents. SumatraPDF is the best desktop touch-friendly PDF reader I've found.
