I upgraded to Windows 8.1 but am having issues playing any media file, video or music. Windows Media Player gives a web help code of C00D11B1, which appears to be a sound driver issue. I'm able to open videos in only VLC player, but without sound. Also, music files won't play with any program. However, online videos from youtube or other sites play correctly with sound. Has anyone else had a similar issue or have advice?

Have you tried reinstalling the audio drivers?

Yeah, I've reinstalled them twice already but still no joy.

Edit: I found an older driver on Lenovo's website that works.
