I have Windows 8.1 because my Asus Zenbook is not compatible with Windows 10.

Anyway when I get any Windows Update my heart stops because it always says "Updating Windows 10" during the update process. It doesn't say updating TO Windows 10 and the updates install successfully but it is as if Windows THINKS it is Windows 10 but it is def still 8.1

Has this happened to anybody else? I'm always afraid it will actually update TO Windows 10 but it hasn't yet. I also wonder if I'm getting the right updates since it says it is updating Windows 10?

As I recalled, the Free Windows 10 upgrade ended in 2016's summer.
Maybe you have Windows 10 reskinned to 8.1.
I suggest checking by using the winver command.

I doubt i have a reskinned version because all I did was roll back to 8.1 immediately after Windows 10 showed glitches 2 years ago. The glitches went away after the rollback. How do I do a winver command?

Anybody else. in 8.1 getting W10 updates yet remaining in 8.1?
