What is causing the mouse lag? I have a m6600 and when I was using windows 8, the trackpad felt "off" for some unknown reason. I could not put my finger on what was "off" so I switched back to windows 7

[Shrug] Windows 7 will be supported until 2020, and maybe even longer. By that time, if they do not offer a decent OS, I will have moved on. I don't have to use a Microsoft OS.

My sentiments regarding Windows 8.1 and what MS tried to pull can best be described by this:

    Hey guys,

Need some help here, not serious but kindda annoying. Yesterday, I let a Dell technician change some settings on my laptop (through a program called DellConnect). I didn't know what he did but on the task bar, that thing appeared and I can't figure about a way to disable it. Also, whenever I restart the laptop, the task bar turns black before it becomes normal. I believe that's due to what the Dell guy did as well and that Dell program is still running in the background. Thanks everyone.

Right click on taskbar -> check Lock the taskbar.

Yep, that's just point where you can click and drag on the taskbar to rearrange stuff. Locking the taskbar as killkenny described will make it disappear. It's unrelated to any Dell software.

And it is not a program running in the background.
