That's nice, but I will for one not try it. I have more than enough storage space on all of my devices. Heck, even my tablet has 128 GB of storage + 64 GB from a micro SD, so it basically holds no interest for me. The idea isn't a bad one, but personally, I'd like to see things the other way around: more storage on a device.

This is exactly what is going on more space because of a compressed windows install.

You are regaining space, but you are still at 16 GB maximum. My point was that instead of 16 GB device, I'd like to see 32 GB as the base storage and eventually, even 64 GB. Hope that clears it up.

Yeah it's funny how they'll throw 8GB on a video card that can't make use of it but devices that could use more storage skimps on storage space.

My laptop only have an 128GB M.2 SSD. I would love to gain some extra space on it and reinstall win 8.1 with this method.
Is there a good tutorial to install with this method??

I think the biggest use for this will be upcoming budget devices, sub-$200 tablets and the like. In that sense, I think it's a great move. Am I going to do it on my 128-gb Duo 11 or 750-gb F23? Nope.

It's something to keep in mind if you need to reformat anyways (e.g. malware or trashed Windows install), but I doubt anyone's going to rush out and reformat their computers just for 10 GB of free space...
