Hi, i have manged to install win8.1 ( despite it saying the GPT order is not correct), but it was the only sure fire option to be able to definitevely disable telemetry and other M$ spyware updates, and have a relatively modern and capable OS. I have managed to dual boot it with win10, and managed to dinf an older WIFI N USB adapter to get the installation updated to 8.1.
My question is i cannot get the Serial IO/ extensions/ integrated 630GPU/ and the 9260 wifi to work this is also including the USB3 drivers. My rig is a 8750H with a H370 chipset running a solitary 970Evo with an optimus based system between a 1070maq and the 630
I have looked over the internet, and the closest thing i found were coffee lake drivers zipped, but unfortunately were designed for the desktop board. Excluding the *Inf i havent been able to install anything else
Can some one direct me to a site / zip'd download for the H370 chipset.
    thank you

@paradigm try this, using respectable drivers for 8.1 instead of 7 of course. I'd like to note that properly setup and locked down 10 is very viable option, and it's certainly easier to remove telemetry and other junk from 10 than to solve compatibility problems of newer hardware with older OS.

thanks @Starlight5 is there a way to access the entire battery of official win8.1 drivers (i.e offical chipset, ME,SGX, serial IO and the 630) ? . i cant see how to access the graphic card and USB 3 drivers from intel's website.

I have "attempted " to lock up winx with O&O and WinX PRvcy but it seems that inorder to shut down hosts and options i need to accept that i might have an unstable system and most importantly if M$haft updates WINX they "inadvertantly enable" most disabled options. I'd rather have an old school system where i might have some control ( although i only played with 7 and 10 )

I am usually against driver updater software but try this it's clean with no adware/spyware and it gets you all the drivers from their official sources including missing or not installed yet drivers:

    Drivers Cloud

After you install it and run it, once its done it will open up a webpage in your internet browser, from that page, you need to click on the My Drivers tab to see the updates available or the missing drivers

thanks @Ultra Male buit it displayed "no drivers" against my laptop ( incidentally a razer blade 15) . I tried intel's IT admin place for the wifi drivers, even though the 20.80 are available for 8.1 running the 9260, it states it can't find my device, same thing goes for the HD630 ( without which i can't install the 1070maxq). there were a few modified drivers ( going by the name "Coffee Lake Drivers-WIN87" and the UHD630 driver - an asus installation) . However i can't install any of the devices by using the " manual " option either.

Also can anyone shed some light on why i can't install the ZIP'd 20.80.0 drivers from intel's website made for win8.1 for the 9260 ( i mean they are designed for manual installation.

I have been using an old USB (methinks) atheros based adaptor that worked fine enough to get the defualt win8 installation all the way upto 8.1

I only use OOSU and other tricks from NBR Clean installation guide, not WinX PRvcy. Some options get activated again after very major updates or creating a new user on the machine - while easy to resolve, it is something to keep in your mind. I didn't touch hosts file. My machines are perfectly stable.

@Starlight5 i am running windows 10, but like i said earrlier, its just having an OS i can control updates on, and is a redundant OS, where i can ( because i have zilch exp. with Linux) get my most basic work done. Before you ask, yes win10 is backed up, but my experience with MS with the 1803 update, and the fatal erros that occured on my R4( having to restore 10 multiple times, i at least had my 7 Pro to default to). I am a bit wary since then, ergo the need for a stable OS (one which i already have an offical OEM software and key available)

So i am without an IGP ( because of which i can't instal the 1070), without WIFI ( temporarily using an ancient WIFI N-150) and most of USB 3's are running like 2's, but atleast they do work.
Drivers i have downloaded from various sources on searching the interweb
(these are the names of the *.zip files i have downloaded)

    Coffee Lake Drivers-WIN87
    intel_chipse_9_w10
    intel_sgx
    intel_usb30_skl_a
    intel_vga_4526_x64( www.station-drivers.com)
    intel_vga_kbl_w781
    KBL_2120164508_Win7_81
UHD630 driver (apparently a modified driver, but sadly does not install)
    win64_154518.4664
this does not include the WIFI drivers i downlaoded from intel's IT admin place

Well we can close of this thread, i tried to fix the IGP issue, i couldnt find or modify drivers in the time i had. So simply formatted the drive to give either Ubuntu or even Hackintosh ( i prefer) a try, eventually. If anyone can point me to a site where there are really easy instructions for a dual boot linux distro with X installed first without having to create all those extra partition it would be a great help. Thank you
