Ever since updating to Windows 8.1, my Google Chrome occasionally opens in Metro UI mode (it's default browser). Also, my Pinned Tabs no longer persist between Chrome sessions ... Neither of these problems were there in Windows 8.

Anyone else run into this and know how to fix it?

That's very odd and not something I have seen. Uninstall and reinstall Chrome.

I haven't had that issue, but I had the touch controls go all wonky on Chrome for me after the 8.1 update. It's basically unusable on my Duo 11 right now. Seems Google didn't prepare their browser for 8.1?

I am having the same issue with chrome after my update to 8.1
The touch screen seems to be out of sync with the webpage in chrome. Making it unusable.

I'm sure this is a mistake ;) by Microsoft, accidentally rendering other browsers to poop.

Meanwhile, IE 11 crashes all over the place.

EDIT: I actually finally found a fix for the touching issue with chrome, open properties on the shortcut to chrome, click compatibility and then disable the display scaling. Then chrome acts as it should.

    Hope that helps you Mitlov.

I was having the same issue (inaccurate touch on chrome) on ATIV Smart PC pro 700T. I refreshed and updated 8.1 3-4 times without any success. My touchscreen was kept on freezing regularly as well. Later, I realized that for some reason 'Microsoft Silverlight' was not being installed through metro windows update. I installed it using desktop windows update and my laptop/tablet is running smoothly since then. I hope it helps.

Since I updated to 8.1 I am getting lots of pop up windows with ads and my malware is going nuts and even ads on some pages, like this page I have an ad in the lower left corner that I have to click a "hide ad" button and it still sticks out of the corner a little. I clicked to update and went to sleep, came back and this problem started. I tried IE and no ads or problems but Crome is full of them, sometimes a whole new tab even pops up with different sites or says unable to connect
