So I know that Micro$oft built in some blockade or something for new Intel processors to only be able to run Windows 10. I know that some to you are running Win 7 on these processors and I was wondering if it's possible to get Win 8.1 to run there aswell and how?
I like the new UI and I'm replacing the "Start menu" with back2start anyway so I'd rather have windows 8 and just have it's security updates without "features" from Windows 10 bricking half of my stuff every time.

I believe it was Intel who did it, not microsoft (as intel manufactures the hardware) and it should be as easy as normal, but you would have to figure out a way to install drivers

Drivers may be an issue to find, and possibly difficult to install. Once you install ALL updates for Windows you'll get nagging pop ups telling you to give up.

Never install all updates for Windows 7 with these CPU's.
