I'm using a vaio s and I just installed windows 8.1, and my touchpad has become completely unresponsive. Has anyone else had this problem?
What happens is that I have the driver installed, from the manufacturers website, and then restart the computer as the installer says. The touchpad starts to work fine, until I close the lid of the laptop (which puts it in sleep mode). When I open the laptop again the touchpad is completely unresponsive and continues to be unresponsive even after restarting the computer. The only thing that will fix this is to, yet again, re-install this driver. Is this a windows 8.1 bug or is there a problem with my computer?

It's not a problem inherent to Windows 8.1 (neither of my machines have that issue), but it might be a problem with the Vaio S's drivers for 8.1. I'd check in the appropriate owner's forum inside the Sony Vaio subforum.

Just after 8.1 update touchpad turned to be completely irresponsive, and is only working first 20 sec after restart.
A lot of people already complaint - the problem remains not resolved.
The model I am using ASUS UX51V
