Display dims then turns off at expected times, but sleep never occurs unless I do it manually. It appears others are having this issue but the only solution I found was leaving the homegroup, but I'm not connected to anything there.

Not sure how long this has been going on for because I usually sleep it manually because I'm paranoid of this exact problem. Now that I've checked, it's happening again. Couple months ago this happened and I thought I fixed it but guess not. I can't even remember what I did...

    Anyone have a solution?

Ok, some people suggested running "maintenance" in action center would get some scheduling things out of the way.

This worked. Laptop sleeps after that.

However, this seems frustratingly counterintuitive, that I would have to go to such lengths to make sure my laptop will sleep on it's own.

Is there a way for sleep to override scheduled tasks and just continue when it wakes up?
