I want to run some older games via virtual machine with VMWare Workstation.

What would be better, to run them through 95 or 98SE? 95 supports less hardware, but costs less hardware.

The kinds of games that you would run on either of those operating systems aren't the kinds of games that would miss the extra resources used up by 98SE. I would go for that one, unless you've got some games that work on 95 but not 98. :)

Depends on what run's on what. If a 98 Game won't work on 95, get 98 obviously, and vise versa. Probably go with 98.

Okay, this is getting me really upset. I still have no sound in my Windows 98 Virtual Machine, and I reinstalled it. It doesn't recognize an audio device AT ALL.

    Any ideas?

If you're using VMWare, check their forums. Do they officially support Win9x as a guest?
