    Hi,
I got a new XPS M1530 and I have Vista... just lately for some reason, whenever i close a folder or anything thats using windows explorer, a small message pops up saying that "windows explorer has stopped working" and then it says "windows explorer is restarting." After this, the whole taskbar and all my icons on my desktop disappear for a second before reappearing. This is getting really annoying and I was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong.
    thanks!

how long have you had it? have you made any significant changes on it?
anyways i had a similar problem with my dell dimension desktop...just not as much as you seem to have..
try this: turning the user account control on or off:
    open User Accounts.

Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Select the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the check box to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

don't know if that will work but i know that worked for me

also check to make sure too that it isn't a virus or spyware issue.

And if that doesn't work, you can try a System Restore to an earlier time (when it was working).

Open the Start Menu, type System Restore, and select what comes up. Follow the wizard. ;)
