This error comes up every time I try to access a folder with a video in it. It doesn't matter where the folder is, but if it contains a video, it will freeze. This is my second time I reformatted because of this problem. I do not want to reformat again, although I probably will. It was working fine until I installed Cucusoft IPOD converter or 3D Home Studio Deluxe 6 Suite. I uninstalled both of them and the error still persists. The movie files are what is causing it, but they do not give me this error on other computers. I need your help! Thanks.

Do a System Restore unless you have it disabled.

I think I can help, I had the same problem...

If you have windows folder view set to display thumbnails, explorer will try and load video files so it can use the first frame as thumbnail. But if WMP can't make sense of the video file (an avi with a non-WMP codec for example) it will start freaking out and send garbage back to explorer. Hence the error with no reason.

Try setting folder view to classic, with no thumbnails displayed. That should stop the error, hopefully.

(BTW: You can custom-set folder views for each folder later if you want to preview images etc)

Hmm, thanks for the help. However the problem persists. I don't want to reformat, as it will be the third time in a week. Any help is appreciated!
