I try ShellExView and nothing.I disable all files and still have this problem.

I am not able to disable some file but I disable all I can.

Turn off "preview" in the folder options somewhere. Might be easier to figure out what it is afterwards. Probably a codec conflict or something like that.

Windows is fun, isn't it :p

It's got to be a shell-extension that launches a component that fails. But if you can't find something that looks suspicious with shellex, I suppose some component might have been replaced with a trojan or something like that. Or.. it's a version conflict. The program launched an operation of some sort that was illegal. Since it does that from monitor level, the "explorer" hangs..

Does it say something useful in the event-viewer afterwards?

Good Point Nipsen ^^ ! If there is nothing related in event viewer, try creating a new account and login with it. Also try running full Virus scan in safe mode. BTW does the problem also happen in safe mode?

I like the new account idea. sometimes the corruption or hack is tied to the user account itself like the old pointers exploit a while back.

Ouch, I'd say plug in another mouse to see if it is a hardware issue. If that's not it then it could be a memory issue. Did you do ram checks and hard drive checks? I've seen things similar in linux from a live disk, but that's because it was running out of memory on the RAMdisk.
