Stupid Windows Fall Creator Update now causes my laptop to have a black screen on most games when launched. Some are fixed by alt-tab, but not all and not always. I've tried numerous drivers too. Now I am just going to do a clean install of Windows 10 and see what happens.
Seems this is a common theme on the internet now. Anyone else having this issue?

Seems it was the Intel driver (damn Optimus). This is for an Asus machine. Neither Intel drivers provided by Asus worked. Thankfully, and surprisingly a driver suggested at Intel forums worked: https://communities.intel.com/thread/118814
This driver from that thread: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27199/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-47-Maleko48, alexhawker, MahmoudDewy and 3 others like this. -
Just installed Creators Update tonight thru windows update-- went thru without a hitch, it was slow till 50% installed then zip to 100%, No black screens ect.

That's what I did a clean install is the best defense against unknown bugware. And switchable HD drivers are good and bad.

Advise you to install the latest driver from the intel drivers website. You have to know what processor you have and type that into the search bar and the latest update should pop up. Do everything manually to get everything working. Windows updates always screws up the drivers so they don't even appear on the apps page.

Since Win10 on my Win8 machine, I have had to disable fast boot in Windows and then bios and have to downgrade the driver for the "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface" from v11 to v9.5 or sleep freezes my computer and when i shutdown my machine does not turn off fully, the power button light stays on.
I only had to hunt the internet for months to find other Win10 users with the same problem and after trying a dozen fixes some guy finds the solution.
Thanks Microsoft.
Ohh, Yeah, and all the problems with the Autumn update, I had to do a clean install to fix the problems.

I haven't been able to use any of the new Intel Gfx drivers since I "upgraded" to the FCU. I haven't had any black screens, but I constantly would get micro freezes. I'm sticking with version 4627

This is the latest driver for FCU https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...phics-Driver-for-Windows-15-60-?product=80939
I'll try the 15.60 driver and will let you know. -

My machine seems to be happily chugging away - even with the undervolt (-48 mV). I think I've finally gotten smart enough to leave well enough alone and say to heck with Intel driver updates
