Since this will be my first Windows Fresh Install, I need to know what and how to backup. Here are the materials I have for backup:

    1. 60 DVD+R's
    2. 30 GB iPod Hard Drive
    3. 2 GB Flash Drive

What do you recommand as my backup process? I can take care of the clean install.

    Thanks,
    Leon

if yhe ipod empty or has all of your music on it,or you have 30gb of music , just fill the ipod with all your mucis, ans use a program to transfer it back to the new install/machine after , to save messing about burning it all to dvds

then just back up all your photos and programs and all your stuff on to dvds

and then id download all the latest drivers for everything, put all them on to one of your usb drives

    then your away

jsut make sure you double check youve got everything backed up, what i do is make a backup folder on the desktop, and move everything what needs to be backed up in to that, then work your way through it and delete when done

What is the PURPOSE of this backup? Is it so you can move things to your new installation? Is it so you can revert back to the machines current state should something go awry in the clean install process? The two things are very different and require totallly different methodology. Also what OS are we talking about? XP to a clean XP, XP to a clean Vista, Vista to a clean Vista?
