    Windows Genuine Advantage...is is supposed to kill my computer

    sorry if this the wrong area but

    i just went to turn my desktop on and windows refused to load. it has been a month since the windows genuine advantagewas installed since then my computer was getting slower and slower the windows genuine advantage icon over the course of time has blurrier and blurrier....

    i know our copy of windows is illigal(we got a computer form a friend of a friend) any we got screwed big time.

    the only way to get the computer up is in safe mode,

    has any one else had a similar problem and does any one know how to fix it


    HELP!!!!

    Well I'm not sure there's much you can do other than get a genuine license, which would involve buying a copy of Windows. I don't think it's a good idea to call Microsoft's Activation hotline about this.

    or check to see if you have the original OS sticker on the side of the comp somewhere. you can call and they'll give you a new registration code.

    no there is not windows sticker it is a build your self pc, as for a genuine license lan networking doesn't work in safe mode

    you're the one who stole it lol. i think your options are limited to buying a cheap windows xp OEM disc or something...

    you can boot into safe mode with networking make sure when you choose the networking safe mode.
