Takes forever to install on windows 7, even though I only chose to install the messenger. Anybody has this problem? Only less than a minute to install Yahoo messenger.

I would imagine that most posters here would use Windows Live essentials 2011 if they use it at all, so I can't imagine anyone having experience with WLE 2001.

There was no such thing as WLE 2001. Did you mean 2011?
-
Yes, 2011 suite has potential, but in its current form, it's a disaster. Microsoft has got its hands in too many pots. Ballmer needs to get his house in order.

WLE 2011 has always been a problem for me but only on Win 7 x64. Both install and uninstall take 6 to 8 hours. It is now 10:05 and it has been updating itself since 07:25 but it shows as only 43% completed. After running a search on Google it appears that many Win 7 x64 users are experiencing the same thing, even after a fresh install of Windows.
Apparently, one solution is to download the full version and then install in safe mode however; I'm loathe to stop it now so I won't be trying that this time around. I wish it was possible just to install MSN Messenger like in the good 'ol days! -
Grrr!!! Another WLE update. Started at 08:10. It is now 11:38 and it is 96% complete.
I hate this app! -
I stopped using WLM some time ago (not that I was really using it that much in the first place).
The latest Skype Beta version supports integration of WLM contacts, and seeing how Skype demonstrated it was better in virtually every respect, I simply use that.
WLE seems to have become severely bloated over the recent years.
The installation itself is a nightmare that takes a really long time to get done.
Windows Live Essentials 2001 installation takes forever
