So im running W7 on my MacBook, installed in Boot Camp running on VMware

I have successfully installed "Writer" and "Silverlight"
But the MAJOR features I NEED are "Messenger" "Mail" and then "Photo Gallery" and "Movie Maker Beta" just for kicks

ALL of the ones I couldnt install say this (getting ready to type...)

*Insert Name Of Program, Like Messenger*

*Name Of Program* could't be installed because we had trouble installing this requirement:

    -Microsoft Application Error Reporting
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.42",
Please refer to Help and Support for more information.
Please close all other open programs, and then try again. It looks like another program is preventing the installer from working. hr:0X80070643

PS: How did you know it was this?
WOW!!! Windows 7's intergration of Windows Live is AWESOME!!!
When you highlight MSN in the start menu you get a menu asking to sign in etc.. without even having MSN open etc... !!!

I'm glad to hear that you got it fixed quickly. I recognized "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" as a part of MS's Visual C++ Redistributable Package from my past troubleshooting with Wine. I figured that since the installer had messed up installing this component, getting the package and installing it yourself would fix the show stopper. ;)
