I have Windows Live Mail, but since i haven't a Live ID the thing is just wasting resources with 2 Live ID exe's working even if i don't need it to get mail from my POP3/IMAP. So i am asking for alternatives or in option how to kill the MS services without disabling the program.

windows live mail is technically only the program that comes bundled in the windows essentials suite, and live IDs are no longer a thing. if you have a live.com address, you can login to outlook.com using that account (i.e. a MS account). if you aren't actually using any of the programs, why not uninstall the suite altogether?

If you are looking for an e-mail client to use for your other e-mail addresses, you have Thunderbird, Outlook (the Office suite program) and Opera mail among others.
Also, mattcheau is right, any @live, @hotmail accounts are now Microsoft accounts, the same goes for Xbox Live accounts I suppose. -
I have no microsoft account. I just want the old outlook, but if it is part now of Office suite then it is a moot point. I'll try the others. Thanks.

have you tried logging into outlook.com using whatever account you're referring to?

Tried it, if i kill the service live mail doesn't start . I need all juice from the computer so everything that uses cpu cycles and memory and are of not use get ditched.
mattcheauc i don't understand what are you trying to say. I said i have no microsoft account so why you telling me to log into outlook.com which i don't have an account?
Thanks for info everyone. Well one more microsoft stuff to drop it seems. -
what kind of mail were you using windows live mail to receive? please don't tell me you made this thread just to determine whether or not you could uninstall windows live mail because you don't use it...

Is it possible to export from live mail to outlook?
I know you can get this kind of thing Live Mail to Outlook Converter - Hassle free email migration software but is there another way that I'm missing? I've tried to export but nothing happens when I click ok.
