and when I go to Hotmail - it just started doing this a few days ago. I don't see any option to disable or delete it in Windows 7.

    Any ideas?

(First time Ive used this PC in a few months, maybe a windows update changed something?)

You could uninstall WLM if you don't use it at all.

To keep it from starting with windows: In WLM go to the tools menu>options>sign in.

    You're welcome...

to disable WLM from starting up when the computer starts:

Launch WLM and tap the alt key to bring up the menu bar. Click Tools-Options.

    Click Sign-In on the left.

Uncheck the Start WLM options on the right...Click OK.

u could try this: open up the options box in wlm..and go to sign in>and uncheck "automatically run windows live messenger when i log onto windows"?
or you could go to run>msconfig>startup and look for the startup entry and uncheck it...

Uncheck the box that says "starts with Windows" under options in MLM.

Ok, not starting with windows anymore which is good - but it's still popping up when I go to Hotmail. Any ideas?

Is this what it looks like?

If so, put a check mark where it says, "Automatically run windows live messenger when I log onto windows" (in the above picture).

I don't see a cursor in the above image, regardless every option on the sign in page is greyed out as well except the top three (which grey out when I uncheck the first one).

    Sorry about the cursor, *fixed*

I really don't know why it's not letting you uncheck that box.
If you would post a printscreen, that would be good.

If you're running windows 7: locate "Change Startup Programs" in the control panel. And turn WLM off.

Another option would be to uninstall WLM

WLM isn't an option in add/remove hardware - is it part of WL Essentials?

You could try to set it to default then try to reconfigure it again.

Yeah you need to uninstall windows live essentials ..
