I choose to run it in compatibility mode coz I don't like it to be in the tab bar below......
but now it never starts with Windows........and even when I start it......i have to grant it permission through UAC everytime......
how to fix this?
-
????????????????????????????????????????????
-
Do you have the problem if you don't use the shortcut, ie go to the program directory and launch the program?
-
yup, just tried it, same result, uac pops up
-
Maybe changing the permissions on the Live Messenger program files directory and the live messenger application will help.
-
turn uac off?
-
I just remembered that you can circumvent the UAC prompt if you create a task to run the application. Read this, and apply it to Live Messenger:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11949-elevated-program-shortcut-without-uac-prompt-create.html
I did it for RMClock when I was running the RC. -
WOW! Thanks alot man! you're a star!! now I can start it automatically and without any UAC prompt!
rep point added!
EDIT: can't give u a rep point now until i spread some around
will do it soon -
You can't give him a rep, but I can, used this for xfire.
