When I start up Windows Live Photo Gallery, my CPU goes from 0% to 25% usage, causing the fan on my machine to kick up. Even when I'm not doing anything in it, and it's just sitting there displaying my photo galleries. Why is this? Any way to cause the program to be less resource-intensive?

Thanks! I'd missed that. Turning off tool tips and facial recognition seemed to do the trick. +1 rep
