Hi
My daughter has a laptop running Vista.
Her Msn Messenger live has stopped responding. I have tried to re-install it but the installer says it is already on the computer and won't go any further.
I have tried a System restore, to no avail.
I have gone to the C:\Program Files but Messenger Live or Windows Live is not listed YET the installer says it's there ?
It is also NOT listed in the Add/Remove programs list in Control Panel.
Last week i uninstalled the Messenger plus program to try to stop pop-ups related to that program - could this be the prob ?
Is there something i can type into "Run" to enable either the program to run again OR to uninstall it completely ?
Any help would be apprieciated.

Try ZapMessenger. There was a thread similar to this a while ago, and this fixed the "Already installed on this computer" problem.

Get the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility and use it to verify that it is indeed removed. If not, use it to remove it, and try to reinstall.

Tried both and have reinstalled windows live.
BUT now it won't let me sign in.
I get the error code 80040154
I have tried this solution, posted in various places around the net but no joy.

Did you get also install Mail when you were choosing what Live components to install?

Just curious, how did you download it? Was it from here? Or an already packaged download?
