When setting up windows mail it asks for pop3 or imap. Whats the difference? Which is better?

Yeah, it depends on what mail service you're using. POP3 allows you to download your messages once to any one computer, and then they're pulled off the server. IMAP allows you to create mail folders and store mail online, so you can access them from any computer.

POP3 allows you to download to multiple computers if you select to leave a copy on the server in tools- accounts- properties- advanced tab
