I'd like to use Windows Mail in Windows 7 x64 upgrade. It's simple, fast and easy, and all I really need. It seems the newer version is called Windows Live Mail, so I downloaded that from Microsoft and tried installing it. When I try to open it, I get an error that it might not be installed correctly or that I'm out of memory. I click "Okay" and nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, with the same effect.

Rather than deal with that, I tried using my back-up Windows Mail .exe file. It appears to open, but I can't see it or do anything with it. Alt-tabbing won't even show it, although Task Manager tells me it's open. I can even get the New Mail notifications at the bottom right.

The computer is a Lenovo W500. Anyone had an issue like this?

Windows Mail and Outlook Express will not work in Win7. It is probably the dumbest move they made with this upgrade. You can download a 3rd party or Windows Live.
