I believe I have version 9.5 of these, as I received a Windows Update for Windows Media Format Runtime 9.5 yesterday. However, Google tells me there is now a version 11 of these, and a web site off of Google tells me that they can be installed without upgrading Windows Media Player. So that leads to a few questions:

*What's the benefit of WMP Format Runtime 11 over 9.5? Sure, it's newer, but what's the actual benefit?

*Can version 11 indeed be installed on Windows Media Player 10? Will that get rid of the silly "A Windows Media update is available" notice I get every so often but never do anything about, because I don't want WMP 11?

*Is there any point since I already have the CCCP to play Ogg Vorbis (amongst others), and a FLAC encoder to play FLAC? The only format I know of that I have but cannot play in WMP is .amr. I would like to be able to play those files in WMP, as it eliminates any need for QuickTime.
