i can't uninstall windows media player 11 beta. I dloaded and it's giving me troubles. When use menus, it's all messed up. I tried rolling back, but that never works. Can never get rollback to work. I uninstalled WMP 11 beta from add/remove programs. Did it. But when i launch WMP, it still is WMP 11 beta. Now the profile in the add/remove programs is gone and I can't uninstall it. I can't seem to get back WMP 10. I'm stuck. Last resort is reformatting and I don't want to do that again.

    Thanks

I tried the Batboy procedure, and I had no luck either. But restore point solved my problem.

this is just a guess, but is WMP 11 constantly running in the backgorund? Press ALT + CTRL + DEL to launch the task manager and click on the processes tab.

If WMP11 is there, can't you just end the process?

WMP11 is still running after the un-install, so try that.

Err...this has already been asked plenty of times. Just uninstall the WMP11 runtime files, which is in Add/Remove Programs with the Show updates box checked at the top. You do not need to re-install WMP as it is a rollback.

Try using the Search function located at the top of this forum next time. You should be able to find the following post:

Is this really buggy? Sounds liek a lot of people want to get rid of it, does it look like it could be cool though?

I personally don't find it buggy, it's just a bit more complex to navigate around and uses up more computer resources than WMP10.

Thanks. THis thread helped me out. Just needed to check show updates at the top of the add/remove programs window. Then select windows media player 11 remove and it rolled back to WMP 10 Perfectly! Thanks!

I've read your quotes, but my real trouble is, the application asks me for a validation of the f..... product. So, it doesn't let me uninstall the runtime update.

    Any idea?
