hi, does the media player 11 include built in file conversion like iTunes does? u know the one where u can convert file say... from (for example) mp3 to something else? or do i need a third party software for that?
-
You can convert into WMA and other MP3 qualities if you want. It can be done in Sync mode with devices both video and audio. It can rip CDs into MP3 and WMA.
Hope this helps,

so there is no (umm..) convert-on-demand feature... if i want to convert the file on my library
-
I think no in that sense. You can sync to some folder or device or mem card and get there a copy in another format. So I guess the answer is no.
Cheers,

MediaCoder is open source software for audio and video conversion.
-
thanks! i'll check media coder out... i wonder what windows is thinking not including built in conversion with their new WMP, i thought they were gonna compete with iTunes.
-
oh btw, how good is MediaCoder conversion quality?
-
Oh, does windows media player keeps the file organized like iTunes Does?
-
Unfortunately I don't know how iTunes organizes files. Maybe you could install it and see how it looks. 11 beta2 is faster and more reliable than previous beta. I like it very much.
Cheers,
Ivan -
Just so you'll know, converting from one lossy (compressed) file format (such as mp3) to another (such as wma) will reduce sound quality.
-
well... maybe i tried it when it when it came out then. thanks!
