Apple is so ME-centric. If they offered software to other manufacturers and developers (despite losing a small degree of control) their market share would increase by a ton.

That arrogant attitude and outrageous incompatibility is what turns me off about apple.

With that in mind, the majority of the cons that the article references make no difference to me. Likely...those who also don't have an ipod will not be bothered by the non-integration.

Great software, and the reviewer got it right...the UI is a MAJOR upgrade in several ways.

I really like WMP 11. I think I will be using it instead of Itunes. :)

I must say I have the same feeling about the apple company. Some other advertisements that were all over the magazines made me angry. I remember the rabbit and the turtle ad a few years ago with PowerPC CPU campaign, and now "Intel does more in our computers than ever before". BS - low and cheap. Why do they do that?

Back to the article. I am not an iPod user nor I use iTunes. But I am a WMP user. It works, it is there. And I must admit I like WMP 11 more than any other version before. I have a T-mobile MDA PRO (HTC Universal, O2 EXEC) and WMP does a great job in filling my 1GB SD with random music compilation. It is fast, has great options and yet it is somehow simple. What else? I ripped today one cd for usage on my MDA - Two clicks. Third click transfered everything to my MDA over Bluetooth (700kb/s). And I did it while listening to the same CD. End of story. WMA 128kbit (default rip) sounds better than my old 40GB MP3 128kbit library too.

BUT... It is unstable on some graphic cards! Or drivers. Its visualization kills my brother's 3d workstation 3dlabs Realizm 512MB card. It resets to the strange resolutions and colour depths. So if you own a 1000 USD card - be careful... :)
