I'm curious what package people download for their Media Player codecs. I use VLC for everything but recently I've enjoyed the little Media Player toolbar in the taskbar and how convenient it is.

I use the K-lite codec package for WMP and VLC to play all my videos. No problems so far.

I've gotten a lot of suggestions to download the K-lite in the past. Gonna hit that up.

Yuck, playing videos in WMP... that's just wrong. WMP I find to be decent only with audio. Anyways, K-lite is a good choice. If you're up for a bit of a change, take a look at KM Player. I like it much better than VLC.

Switched to CCCP over K-Lite, despite the lack of updates compared to K-Lite most of my videos play fine. The added Zoom player is nice to use compared to the old workhorse that is media player classic.

Is 10 posts of the same text necessary or is it a glitch?

K-Lite Codec Pack Full + CoreAVC. I like MPC-HC better than Windows Media Player.

I feel VERY strongly (having used ALL those packs before especially Klite), that shark007.net is the best BY FAR at this time. minimal but has everything you need. Also has releases for Win7. Try it, you'll be surprised.

From personal experience I'd advise against using any universal codec packs for Windows, from my experience all it does it create conflicts and cause problems.

I'd just rather stick to a universal media player like VLC.

[SARCASM]My advice used to be 'avoid codec packs', but what the heck, since they're 'free' might as well load up as many as you can.[/SARCASM]
