I'm confused - on the comparison table it says it is not supported, whereas if you go here it says that it applies to vista basic as well? And if you search Google people speak about 'partial support' of the mobility center in vista basic, but nobody knows what's the difference between 'partial' and 'full'?

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/mobilitycenter.mspx

According to that site, Mobility Center is only available in the "Premium" editions of Vista. This does not include Basic. I do see what you're talking about though. I guess I would take that to mean that some of the features (like presentation mode) aren't available in Basic. But you can still control power schemes and so forth.

Maybe someone with Basic can shed some light on that?

Thanks, I also asked this question on windows community boards, maybe someone will tell what is the exact difference..

R4000, thanks for the pic, if only vista basic had that it would be great, the most important are the power plans (balanced, power save, high performance) to help save battery life. External display also look like a good thing..

Ok vista basic laptop just arrived :) Mobility Center is there, and available tiles are: brigtness, volume, power plans, wireless, external display, sync center, plus fujitsu own tiles.

So no presentation and no network projector.
