I recently did a clean Win7 install on my Dell XPS 15 notebook (L502X) with i7-2630QM and GT525M. I installed Windows Live Essentials 2012 Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. When I start Movie Maker, it says "Sorry, Movie Maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements..." When I follow the link, I'm instructed to run dxdiag and check the DDI version, which shows up as 10.1 but should only need to be 10.0 for Movie Maker to work, afaiu.

I installed the latest GPU driver from nvidia. The Intel graphics driver I installed was from the Dell driver DVD.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks much!

Maybe you got a corrupted download. Windows Live installs gobs of stuff on your computer for WMM so maybe one of those many files is broken. You might try removing WMM and try to download just windows movie maker again.
