A friend asked me a question today and I'm not sure of the answer so I thought I'd ask.

He has a Dell Server running Windows SBS2008. On that server he has three user accounts that share some folders from the server as well as storing their user folders on the server.

The question is if my friend is logged on to his pc, which runs windows 7 pro, and deletes a file stored in either the shared folders or his user folder where does it go seeing that there is no recycle bin on the server AFAIK?

    thanks

When you delete folders from a network share, it bypasses the recycle bin and is deleted.

Like any computer, though, the file may be recovered with third party tools.

Alternatively, if Volume Shadow Copies was enabled on the network share (on sbs) and the shadow copy client on the workstation, the user can restore the file himself/herself
