I have never seen this , just did a fresh reinstall, sidebar.exe keeps running at a very stable 50 % of cpu power since I start up my lappy ...

Since it is running under "Samsung" and not "System"
This is the sidebar from MS ?

What the hell is going on ?

One of your gadgets is in "runaway" state. Start killing gadgets till you find the culprit. It is not sidebar itself that is doing this.

And with that action, you now have no idea what is causing the problem.

What do you mean "what gadgets"??? The ones installed in sidebar. Each one has a close box in the upper right hand corner. Close them one at a time, while monitoring the CPU use.

Try right click in the system tray, Options/Properties and uncheck the option to start it with Windows?.

THat would do it in Vista, but in 7 you just need to close all gadgets, then the sidebar.exe wont run anymore.
