    Windows Update Error - Vista 64 Bit

    I did all the updates, but there is one update for REALTEK NIC Driver that keeps failing no matter how many times I restart, how do i get it done and out of teh way?

    does your realtek nic work? if so, just hide the update.

    ok it works, but im just wondering why is teh update failing?

    Maybe it knows that there's a conflict or something of that order, or that you have a newer one already installed, and hence it's not installing.

    Do you get an error code?

    I also am having the same problem. I don't use a wired connection so I hid it.

    Do you get a "Windows Update error 80070103" ?

    Then your existing driver might be newer and already be up to date. So you will get a failure message.
    (Click on the link "Get help with this error" when you get the failure message.)

    Just ignore the update. It won't affect your system.
