If you get an error message and windows update can't install KB929777.

    This solution worked for me:

1: Open up "Control Panel" and navigate your way to "Programs and Features".

2: Click "View installed updates" on the left hand side.

3: Find the update KB929777 and uninstall it.

4: Attempt to install the update again in Windows Update

5: Once successful, restart your PC.

Thanks! But is it a critical update? I did a clean re-install of vista on my computer and now it can't get out of sleep mode (crashes) so I had to change all of my power settings to shut down instead of sleep for everything. I read that it's because I have more than 3GB of RAM and that's why this update doesn't work.

So I did a modification and found that I needed to download it NOT in windows update...otherwise it was getting stuck! Thanks for the awesome tip...now it's working fine.
