When the heck does it come out and how much will i be able to purchase the full vista home premium with SP1? Guesses would be much appreciated if you are unsure :D.

Also, how much space does the vista OS take on your hard drive? Since the one that came with the comp is only 160, i was thinking about getting a larger one...

Vista SP1 won't cost you anything extra and it is currently in release candidate stage so it's past beta already. I believe the targeted release date is Q1 2008, but seeing how close they are, they'll probably try to release it in January on Vista's first anniversary.

Q4 2007 was the original plan for Microsoft, but things are things and you know, there are lots of other things going on and they are trying to make it all perfect... and they may be pushed back far as Q1 2008.

And your second question: around 15gig-20gig bro

I think you'll find SP1 is released January 2008 without a doubt. They'll be looking to push out it ASAP once it has finished being tested.

The only difference between purchasing the retail now and retail with SP1 is the installation step for Sp1. Since SPs are free, usually they will be at the same price. And with you r current hdd size, there will be enough space for it.

P.S i'm testing Vista Sp1 RC and everything is great!

they are saying 1st quarter of 08....however, they would be smart to release it early 12/07 if they want to hype it up for the holiday season

sp1 does not cost extra..you can buy your notebook or comp now and the sp1 will be installed via windows update

Would be funny if MS decides to start charging ppl for Service Packs. If you want a working OS, pay US :p They would make bank and take down the evil empire all at once :D
