    So I have a Sony Vaio FW-373J/B

Has windows home prem 64 bit

When I launch Everquest the patcher works perfect, then it loads to start EQ then I get this error:

The exception unknown software exception 0xc0000005 occured in the applcation at location 0x037bdd80

    or something to that effect

What does this mean and how can I get EQ to work?

Sony chat was unable to help, all they said was Everquest isnt supported by a 64 bit OS..........but I find that Sony who made this laptop and who also made Everquest (even if they are diffrent divisions) could not make this work with one another in some way.

    Any help would be great,

    thanks!

its kind of a longshot but can you use compatibility mode to run it. right click the shortcut to the game. choose properties. then choose compatibility tab. check the run this program compatible for and change it to windows xp sp 2.

edit - almost forgot there is the patcher and the game itself. so you may have to change compatibility on both.

Everquest should work in Vista Home Prenium 64bits. Review your event log and see exactly what error(s) that stopped the application loading; it usually a conflict in softwares. Try stop other apps that are running one by one and see, AV and firewall included.

    cheers ...

Its all one .exe, the patcher starts first.

And tried what you said, still same error. However I clicked all the options under it (say 800x600) it worked for all of 3 seconds under that res.

    idk.....
