Hello,
A few months ago I bought a Dell Vostro 1500, and it came with Vista Business. After using vista, I decided i wanted XP again. So I rang customer service, they agreed to send me the discs for XP, so I formatted and reinstalled with XP - Great!
Butt...I have two product keys now - one for XP, which im using and is activated, and my Vista Business one, just sitting on the underneath of my computer.
Is it technically still active, could I use it on another computer seeing as though I dont have vista business anymore?
Seems such a waste..

nope the key for vista business is OEM which only works for the notebook
Its illegal transfering it anyway.. -
if u have a stand alone vista cd, not the recovery cd
u can, first what u need to do is install vista by using the stand alone cd, enter the key. when everything is done installing, ask for active. u need to call microsoft to re-active the key. which u need to do a little lie. they will ask whts the problem to re-active, u will tell them, my windows crash, need to reinstall on the same pc.
