Since I've had experience (not a lot, but not too little at teh same time) with Windows Vista, I've found that not all programs are completely compatible with Windows Vista.

For example, Trillian. I had a friend transfer some work to me via Trillian, and it supposedly saved it in a folder, but when you navigate, the folder doesn't even exist there. On the other hand, if I save it somewhere else, for example, D:, it saves perfectly.

Also, if you have Aero enabled, some programs force Vista to go back to the Vista Basic theme. Media Player Classic is an example. So is Adobe Photoshop CS2 (In my experience, at least)

Others, such as CDBurnerXP Pro SE just won't work. AIM and Triton, too.

Now, for the list. I shall add them here as I get more and more responses, or as I use more and more programs. I'll try to make it as expansive as possible.

P.S.: I'm due for a hardware upgrade by the end of this week, and I'll be installing Vista 64-bit RC2. Once I do that, I'll try out random programs. Till there, this list is incomplete and an infant.

    Totally Incompatible

    CDBurnerXP Pro
    AIM Triton 6.0
    AIM
    3DMark06
    Nero 7 Ultimate (Won't Install on RC2 64-bit)

    Somewhat Compatible

*Adobe Photoshop CS2 - Forces Windows Basic Theme Shift
Trillian - Cannot Save In Default Save Folder
Media Player Classic - Forces Windows Basic Theme Shift
    WinRAR - Needs Patches

    * - needs more input/varied results

    Completely Compatible

    DeepBurner
    Winamp
    NOD32 AntiVirus
Azureus (now going under the code name Zudeo : shrug : )

I can't seem to think of all the programs right now. This list will be constantly upgraded. I hope that it becomes useful to at least a handful, and that it won't be a wasted effort. I sincerely thank all of you who has and will be contributing to this thread in advance.

I think you'll have to wait for WinRAR.

BTW, I tried installing 3DMark06 - installs only under compatibility mode. And won't run once it's done installing - it needs DX 9, but Vista comes with Dx10 so it's useless :p

I was wondering how much I'd get on Vista, but whatever.
