I can get Windows Vista Enterprise for super-cheap from my college. Is it an upgrade or can I do a totally clean install on an empty machine by booting from the disc?

well, actually, it doesnt matter..... if it is a full disc, you will have no problems.... and if its an upgrade, there is a tutorial on how to do this on here some where, but you install vista basic without a product code, so it goes into trial mode, then "upgrade" to what u really have...

I use to, but that was when Vista was RTM back in Nov. 06'.

I would recommend doing a full reformat (reinstall).

On the disc, it usually says if it's an "Upgrade only" or whatever.
