Basically, just bought a new dell laptop (factory outlet) with windows open office installed on it. I bought Windows Vista office home and student 2007 and installed it all on my laptop. It said successfully installed and microsoft word and all the other programmes work and are displayed in the vista format. But the probelm is ,

My main screen has not changed to the vista form with the little orb in the bottom left ( the start button ) and still looks like the classic xp.

    WHY ?

please help a.s.a.p, kind regards, Jack

I think Microsoft Office has nothing to do with that. Try to go under Personalization (Control Panel) > Themes, and choose "Windows Vista". You should see the Vista Logo instead of the Start button.

agreed, it is probably your theme, or maybe your computer is trying to help you and is telling you to use XP.
