This is not a request for a windows vista ISO.

I DO OWN THE OPERATING SYSTEM. THIS IS JUST A QUESTION.

I was wondering if, by the help of an ISO, i could get to the recovery screen of Windows Vista.

Because to be honest, i do not understand all the stuff from gpart and all that to get to the recovery and blahblah.

    Will an ISO work?

AGAIN THIS IS JUST A QUESTION. I AM NOT REQUESTING ANY FORM OF ILLEGAL ACTION TO ACQUIRE VISTA.

    Thank you

I am not exactly certain as to what you are asking...

Are you trying to get to the recovery screen of Windows vista, but when you get to the F8 boot menu, it will not launch? If so a Windows Install, Anytime Upgrade, or legal repair disc will work. A pre-made ISO from your maker will NOT work, as it merely copies the ISO to the hard drive, not installing it. Below is a link to a legal repair disc that I have used many times to repair my installation. Link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

No, you cannot boot off a .iso file. The .iso file is an image of a disc, you have to burn it to a DVD to actually use it.
With your DVD burning software, you have to select the option to burn a CD/DVD from an image. Once you burn it, then it becomes useable as a recovery disc.

Lets try this again: So you want to make an image of your current C:\ Partition to act as your own re-installation disc? When you use the disk, you WILL have to use a partitioning program to format the drive, set the partitions you would like (1 to infinite) then copy the image off the DVD you have made of your previous C:\ drive to the new C:\ drive partition. One of the easiest ways is using Acronis or Ghost, as they have streamlined this process of restoring hard drives from a image. There are freeware options as well, but will require you to be a bit more resourceful. Can you please explain to use, at the basic most level of your understanding if this is not what you want, as you are not making sense in what you are talking about. If you have to give us steps, pics, etc. whatever will convey what you want to exactly do to a T.

To be completely honest sir, i am not very knowledgeable in this field, however what i am intending on doing is accessing the BOOT RECOVERY screen on windows vista .

You know, the CD that when u put in the first time that has Vista and it asks for your CD-Key.

thats the only thing im trying to get, ill follow partitioning steps later on.

but for now, im just trying to get that initial "setup" screen if you will.

Yeah as long as you have the installation DVD you can access the various tools on it.
