OK, I got an early Vista disk and I'm trying to install it. It doesn't have SP1, no updates at all. Now when it goes to "completing Installation" it gave me a 2 second BSoD, saying "a problem has been detected with your hardware, windows will now restart".
I would slipstream SP1, but I don't have a DVD burner or access to one.
I'm trying to reinstall it now, wish me luck.

it looks like your computer/laptop has got some hardware which is not Vista compatible. When it comes to installing Vista...well, Vista itself is rather picky...by the way...did you try to make a fresh installation? maybe it has something to do with your partition.
-
Considering I got an Express upgrade to it as well.........
And Yes, this is a clean HDD. -
Can you get any more information about that BSOD?
-
No, it was only for 2 seconds, and it automatically restarted.
I'm trying it again, and its at where the crash happened so...... -
OK, it didn't BSoD, I'll let you know if anything else happens.
EDIT: It's getting my WEI right now, so it seems good -
-
I did, after I posted that.
On XP now.
