well i'm happy with SP2, don't really care with the boot time, it even free up my hdd, from 260GB to 320GB (I have a 500GB HDD). A little disappointed though with IE8 ..

Boot time is a little slower than before, but I predict it will come back to around the same time after some more reboots.

No problems here on Vista x64. Updated yesterday and everything seems exactly the same. I guess I expected something revamped like SP2 was on XP.

Probably says more about _Vista (in a positive light) than about XP - I've gone back and revisited XP SP1a a few times recently (doing factory reinstalls from the "recovery" CDs that came with my old VAIO), and SP1a was gross compared to SP2.

Not a single problem here runing Home Premium 32bits SP2.

Boot time have decreased a little: from 50 secs in SP1 to 42-45 secs in SP2. The bigest change is that now I can start using the computer right after it starts, with no delay waiting apps to load. Maybe thats the reason why the RAM usage has increased about 200MB (from 600-700MB in SP1 to 900-1GB in SP2). Shut down time now is 15-17 secs, so it's fast too!

hmm well i mostly use hibernate too.. so sp2 might be an option for me. Altough the new components/features it has arent rly interstesting for me (woho media center which i neveru se and ms search 4.0). But propably there are some nice fixes in the sp2

but working isnt rly faster with sp2 for me

    Mine too.
So what if the boot is slower than SP1? Seriously, I don't know anyone who constantly turns off his laptop - I, for example put it in 2 modes, depending if the laptop is connected to the power cord, or is on battery life.

Just a question for those who have been experiencing issues with SP 2, have you tweaked your comp in any way? Maybe it is the combination of your tweaking and SP2 that has things screwy.

I have mine light tweaked and goes like a charm. Boots faster than Unbuntu 9.04, and apps load in the same time.

The only "downside" is the increase in RAM usage, as i've mentioned (well, not really a downside, since I got 4GB).
