Hi, I was wondering if Vista SP1 will give me better gaming performance (excluding the GPU) on 32-bit or 64-bit? If I only play 32-bit games, and only 3GB of RAM, then would the 32-bit install provide better performance? I heard NVIDIA drivers were more stable on 32-bit. And is it true that Vista uses more CPU than RAM in 32-bit right? I suppose there will be a small fraction of lag when running 32-bit applications under 64-bit because the code is being translated into the architechure (WoW64).

Strange... and does 64-bit allow the O/S to work better with multicore processors?

If the application is designed specifically for multi-core and 64-bit, then yes the performance should be better with a 64-bit OS.

True. But I don't think there are any advantages for multi-core that don't also apply to single-core 64-bit systems.

It's 2008. We stopped "supposing" in public years ago.

That's good to know that 32-bit applications don't run any slower. :)
