    Anyone used this?

I have installed Vista SP1, and been running with it for about two weeks, without any problems.

As I understand it, if I choose to run SP1 File Removal tool, it will remove certain files which are only needed to restore if you've had problems AFTER installing SP1. If you've installed SP1, and haven't had any issues, and don't expect to want to remove it in the future, running this program will free up space on your hard drive....

Is that about it? Anyone used it? Anyone have any problems after running SP1 File Removal Tool?

    Thanks!

I recently switched back to XP coz Vista is a POS resource hungry OS! XP does everything I want with twice the speed!

But to answer your question, any computer without Vista SP1 is useless, so definately make it permenant:

    in DOS type:

    vsp1cln.exe

    Thanks IBO
I haven't had any issues with Vista, other then one program I used for ripping DVD's. I found a replacement, which did cost me a few $$$.

Otherwise, Vista has been VERY speedy, easy to use and hasn't had any BSOD or other problems. Strange, because I do read other people who also hate Vista. I kind of like the eye candy, love the quick search in the Windows menu and several other features.

By the way, do you or anyone else know how much space is recaptured, using vsp1cln.exe and do I simply click on it like running any other program? Not that up to speed with dos... haven't used it (dos) in years.

    Thanks!

I ran it a week or two ago and made SP1 permanent on my Vista. No problems before, during, or after here.
