    Hi,

my Windows start menu is very very slow. when i click the windows button in vista, that's fast, but when i click the "All programs" tab, it starts lagging, scrolling is very unsmooth and jaggy and when i click on a folder to expand it, that's very slow as well. Any solution to this? Thanks.

solved the problem... for anyone else with this issue, deselect "highlight newly installed programs"

    makes it really fast.

Also, check your indexing settings, and consider re-indexing.

BTW, I reorganized my Start Menu thusly, so rebuilding the index was practically a necessity afterwards.

I don't really understand why that would make a diiference, but if you want to change it:

Right-click on Start menu icon/Properties/Start menu tab/Customize/and it is in the list.
