Is there any way to change the background when Windows Vista is first starting up? I'm talking about that greenish-blue background during login and shut down.

The only way I have heard of is third-party software. Bear in mind I haven't done this myself, but just recently I saw a link to LogonStudio, which is made by Stardock, which makes ObjectDock, and it allows you to change the login screen background. Here you go: http://www.stardock.com/products/logonstudio/
    Cheers...

I'm currently testing this out for problems with vista so if you have any problems be sure to tell me. But it seems everything is working fine so i'll send in the recommendation to live so he can add it to his thread.

Yes there is, and if you'd been reading the thread you would've know that.

I'm not being mean, it's a 5 post thread, he should have been reading that's all.

Calvin, Calvin... you are, of course, assuming he reads through an entire thread before posting a reply, no? Looks to me like he was replying to the very first message he read in the thread.

Yes i expect people to read through the thread. But...

yes, very annoying, but i guess i kinda get what Gary was saying. If you read a thread and it's 50 pages long, i assure you, that you will not read through all of that. That's fine. But there were just 5 replies on 1 page, not so long a read. That's what i don't like.

He's not talking about logon studio even if it's a good app. He's talking about something like bootskin.

    Huh????

If I'm not mistaken the OP talked about the "greenish" thing that appears during startups and shutdowns. Also, some people already suggested logon studio.

    Did you read? :p

I understand what you mean Calvin. For me the issue is not that folks don't read through the thread before replying, but that they don't quote the message they are replying to. If this person had quoted the first message in the thread when he replied, we all would have known instantly that he had only read the initial question and offered a reply. As it was, you (and others) assumed the person would read through the five messages before replying. (Something I think very few folks actually do. More often they reply as soon as they see something worth replying to.)
